Gusii International Community Organization (GICO)

Mission

The Mission of the Organization shall be to create a forum that will bring the whole Gusii community together, to create a strong social setting that will enable us to collectively tackle our   social challenges and also, by extension, to the needy, particularly Gusii – Kenya

Vision

Our core vision is to create an equilibrium whereby each member shall have equal; right, financial and material contributions towards any form of challenges that we face in the Community, hence seal most of the loopholes in case of any ill advised individuals who would want to take advantage of our community in a manner that is not acceptable and finally cut down expenses when it comes to contributions towards settling our social challenges.

Benefits

Financial Support

While no one wishes to confront the reality of death, it remains an inevitable part of life. GICO provides financial assistance to members in the event of a death. As outlined on our website, GICO supports the Omogusii community by collecting contributions from members. These funds are given to the bereaved family to cover funeral expenses both in the USA and Kenya, including costs for travel, permits, air tickets, and funeral homes.

Emergency Assistance to Members

In times of emergency when savings fall short, GICO provides quick financial support to its members. This assistance is available to active and consistent members who engage in group activities, including:

• Attending meetings
• Participating in official elections
• Supporting other members by addressing any cases submitted to the group
• Making timely membership payments
• Joining in team-building activities, events, and visits

Membership

GICO open registration starts November 1st and ends December 31st of every year.

New members pay a total of $335.00.

1. $35.00 is the application fee that is non-refundable
2. $300.00 for membership.
