CHIEF OFFICER PUBLIC WORKS (1 POST)

JOB GROUP “S”

VACANCY NO KSI/PSB/EA/20/2024

Requirements for Appointment:

  • Be a Kenyan Citizen.
  • Have a first degree in a relevant field from a university recognized in Kenya.
  • Have ten (10) years of relevant professional experience; and at least five (5) years of experience in a leadership position at a Senior Management level in a Public Service or Private Sector Organization;
  • Have knowledge and experience in Programme Based Budgeting, Planning, and Financial analysis.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding and commitment to the Values and Principles as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya and knowledge of Vision 2030.
  • Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the County Executive Committee Member for Infrastructure and Public Works. The officer will be the authorized officer for the department and will also be responsible for the following;
  • Administration of a County department;
  • Formulation and implementation of programs to attain Vision 2030 and sector goals;
  • Development and implementation of strategic plans and sector development plans;
  • Implementation of policies and regulations;
  • Ensuring efficient and effective utilization of Financial, Human, and other Resources in the Department and submitting regular statutory reports as required.
  • Ensuring compliance with the National Values and Principles of Good Governance and Values and Principles of Public Service as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010; and
  • Performing any other duties that may be assigned occasionally.

Terms: Contract

Remuneration: as per SRC Guidelines.

  2. Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
  3. Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board. (HELB).
  4. Dully filled and stamped Self-Declaration/Clearance from the Ethics and Anti- Corruption Commission (EACC).
  5. A Clearance Certificate from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
