Under Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya and Section 59 of the County Governments Act Revised Edition 2020 [2012] Kisii County Public Service Board invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacant posts.
QUANTITY SURVEYOR (1 POST) JOB GROUP ‘L’-VACANCY NO. KSI/PSB/EA/14/2024
Requirements and Competencies for Appointment:
- Be a Kenyan Citizen.
- Has a bachelor’s degree in Building Economics, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent and relevant qualifications from a university recognized in Kenya;
- Served in the grade of Senior Quantity Surveyor or comparable and relevant position in the Public Service for at least (3) years or cumulative working experience of at least six (6) years in the public or private sector
- Registered with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors of Kenya as Quantity Surveyor;
- Attended Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks in a recognized institution; and
- Demonstrated a high degree of professional competence and administrative capability required for effective planning, direction, control, and coordination of quantity surveying functions.
- Proficiency in computer application skills.
- Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution of Kenya
The duties and responsibilities include: –
- Evaluating and reporting on contractual claims from contractors,
- Checking valuations for payments to contractors,
- Resolving disputes on cases requiring litigation or arbitration;
- Providing cost information services
- Implementing tendering and procuring procedures for construction projects,
- Preparation of cost of estimates and bills of quantities
- Undertaking monthly valuation on site;
- Preparation of variation orders and final accounts
- Implementing development projects within the county;
- Coordinating quantity surveying services in the county

- Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
- Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board. (HELB).
- Dully filled and stamped Self-Declaration/Clearance from the Ethics and Anti- Corruption Commission (EACC).
- A Clearance Certificate from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
